Research

The oncology department at The Ipswich Hospital is heavily involved in clinical research and patients are often offered the opportunity to participate. Over the years, thousands of patients have been enrolled onto large national and international trials of new treatments.
The East Suffolk Prostate Cancer Support group is frequently approached about research studies which our members may wish to participate in. These may be projects which are undertaken by hospital or university departments or commercial entities. They can include, for example, questionnaires about experiences with services or side effects of treatments. They may perhaps be trying to reach out to men with certain types of prostate cancer or who have received specific treatments. Research proposals are being vetted for us for suitability by George Yardy (Consultant Urologist at Ipswich Hospital). We maintain a record of on-going studies and request that any members who may wish to participate email us at research@suffolkprostatesupport.co.uk
